Sightseeing tour of the old city, during which we will visit Metekhi church, Narikala fortress, Abanotubani – district of sulfur baths, Sioni cathedral, Sharden street, Anchiskhati church.

Recommended places to visit: gold fund of the National Museum of Georgia* or the open-air ethnographic museum*. In the evening, a welcome dinner at the restaurant of Georgian national cuisine.*

Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Kutaisi

After breakfest departure to Mtskheta. Visit to the Jvari monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral , which are included in the list of cultural monuments of UNESCO. After lunch* in the wine cellar, we leave for Kutaisi.

Gelati monastery – Prometheus caves – Vani archaeological site

After breakfast explore Kutaisi, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Colchis. We will visit the Gelati Monastery Complex (12th c.), which are included in the list of UNESCO monuments and the karst caves of Prometheus. In the afternoon visit Vani archaeological site.

Kutaisi – Mestia

After breakfast we will depart to the land of fairy towers – to Svaneti. Towers and fortress-houses are examples of architectural art. The towers and churches of Svaneti are protected by the Organization of UNESCO. On the way, stop near Enguri HPP and near the waterfall and in the late afternoon arrive in Mestia. Accommodation at the hotel.

Today you shall have an opportunity to visit the historical and ethnographic museum in Mestia, which contains ancient Georgian manuscripts, ethnographic and archaeological artifacts of antiquity, Georgian Orthodox icons; On the cable car, you will go up the mountain Khatsval, from where you can see a stunning view of Ushba (4700m). After lunch* we shall visit the villages: Latali and Lenjeri, located near Mestia, where you shall have the opportunity to explore the oldest churches with medieval frescoes. Dinner and overnight stay in Mestia.

Mestia – Ushguli – Mestia

After breakfast, on the 4×4 car we head towards the highest settlement in Europe, the village Ushguli. Ushguli, with its fortification towers, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a picnic lunch*, we shall walk to the glacier Shkhara  – the highest peak in Georgia (5068m). In the evening, return to Mestia and dinner.

Mestia – Zugdidi – Tbilisi

After breakfast, we head towards Tbilisi. On the way, in the province of Samegrelo, we will visit Zugdidi – the administrative center of the Samegrelo province and visit the palace of the princes Dadiani, the former rulers of Samegrelo. The palace today is a museum where the richest collection of antiquities is collected. On its territory there is also a botanical garden. After dinner* we continueour way towards Tbilisi. Late at night arrival in Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.
