TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2: Tbilisi Tour
After breakfast, a walking tour around the old city, during which we will visit Rustaveli Avenue, the Abanotubani district, the Metekhi church, the streets of the old city and the Anchiskhati basilica. After lunch free time. Recommended places to visits: Dry Bridge, David Agmashenebeli Pedestrian Street, open-air ethnographic museum, sulfur baths.* In the evening, welcome to the restaurant of Georgian national cuisine. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 3: Tbilisi – Kakheti – Tbilisi
After breakfast we go to the province Kakheti, the region of viticulture and winemaking. First we will visit the Bodbe monastery, the burial place of St. Nino, and then - the colorful city Signagi, surrounded by a five-kilometer fortress wall. After a walk around the city, we shall have lunch and taste homemade wine. Further we will visit the estate of the prince Alexander Chavchavadze in Tsinandali, a tour around the house-museum and, if desired, a wine tasting in the local wine cellar. The day will end with a visit to the winery in Kvareli and a tasting of classic Georgian wines. In the evening return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 4: Tbilisi – Mtskheta –Ananuri – Gudauri
After breakfast, we will go to the ancient capital of the Iberian kingdom, Mtskheta, and visit its sights: Jvari and Samtavro monasteries, as well as Svetitskhoveli cathedral. Next, we head towards the region Khevi (Kazbegi).On the way we visit Ananuri Fortress (17th c.) Passing the Mtiuleti region, we arrive at the Gudauri ski resort, which is located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Range.Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Gudauri.

Day 5: Gudauri – Kazbegi – Gudauri
After breakfast, through the cross pass we go to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). First we visit the Gergeti Trinity church, located at an altitude of 2,180 m at the foot of the mountain of Kazbegi. Further we go to the Dariali Gorge, where you will have a light trekking to the Gveleti waterfall. In the evening return to Gudauri. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Gudauri.

Day 6:  Gudauri – Chateau Mukhrani -  Uplistsikhe – Kutaisi
After breakfast, we will head towards Western Georgia.On the way, we visit the winery Chateau Muhrani and tastedelicious wines.Next we visit the rocky town Uplistsikhe, which before the Christian era was the pagan center of the whole region. After rest and lunch, we will go to Imereti and, passing the Ricoti Pass, we will arrive in Kutaisi. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner at a local resident in the village Gelati. Overnight in Kutaisi.

Day 7:  Kutaisi and its vicinity – Tbilisi
After breakfast we will visit the educational and spiritual center of medieval Georgia - Gelati monastery (11th c.) and Motsameta church. Further we will visit the underground world - the Prometheus caves, famous for their centuries - old stalactites and stalagmites. After lunch return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 8: Tbilisi – airport
After breakfast transfer to the airport.
