TOUR DESCRIPTION
Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi.Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 2: Tbilisi tour
Sightseeing tour of the old city, during which we will visit the Metekhi church, Narikala fortress, Abanotubani- district of sulfur baths, Sioni cathedral, Shardenstreet,Anchiskhati church.After dinner*- free time. Recommended places to visit: Dry bridge, pedestrian street named after David Agmashenebeli, ethnographic museum in the open air,sulfur baths.*In the evening, welcome to the restaurant of Georgian national cuisine.*OvernightinTbilisi.
Day 3: Tbilisi - Kakheti - Tbilisi
A trip to Kakheti - the region of viticulture and winemaking.We will visit the Bodbe monastery and the medieval town Sinagi.After walking around the city and its fortification wall, we will have lunch in a wine cellar and taste homemade wine.Then we go to Tsinandali, to the family estate of princes Chavchavadze.Excursion around the house-museum and wine tasting in the wine cellar.At the end of the day visit to the corporation of Kindzmarauli and wine tasting.In the evening return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 4: Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Gudauri
After breakfast drive to the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia - Mtskheta, visit to UNESCO World Heritage Monuments - Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.Thentripto the Khevi region - Kazbegi.We drive along the Military-Georgian road and in the Mtiuletiprovince we visit Ananuri fortress.We arrive at the ski resort of Gudauri, which is located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Range.Accommodation, rest and dinner in the hotel.Overnight in Gudauri.
Day 5: Kazbegi and its vicinity.
After breakfast, via Cross Pass, we drive to Kazbegi. Upon arrival in Kazbegi, we change transport and on the 4x4 car we go up to Gergeti Holy Trinity Church, which is located at an altitude of 2,047 m above sea level.ThenwewillvisitDarialiGorgeandhike towards two Gveleti waterfalls. In the evening return to Gudauri. Dinner at the hotel.Overnight in Gudauri.
Day 6: Gudauri - Uplistsikhe - Borjomi - Akhaltsikhe
After breakfast drive to the province of Samtskhe-Javakheti. On the way visit the cave town Uplistsikhe (2 millennium BC).We will examine this ancient complex with residential caves, wine cellars, an antique theater, visit the medieval basilica.Lunch in the wine cellar with homemade wine * and continue the way towards Borjomi.Arrival to the well-known mineral water resort of Borjomi.A walk along the Borjomipark and tasting of Borjomi mineral water from a cold and warm spring.In the evening arrival in Akhaltsikhe.Hotel accommodation.OvernightinAkhaltsikhe.
Day 7: Akhaltsikhe - Safara - Vardzia - Khertvisi - Tbilisi
In the morning visit the historical part of the city of Akhaltsikhe - the Rabatifortress, where the palace of the Akhaltsikha pasha, the caravan - shed and other attributes of the fortress city are located.Not far from Akhaltsikhe is the medieval Georgian monastery Safara.The main building of the complex is the dome church of St. Savva, the bell tower and the palace, built in the late 13th century.After visiting the monastery moving to the rock city and the monastery complex Vardzia (12th century), carved during the reign of Queen Tamar.After lunch * visit the medieval fortress of Khertvisi and head towards Tbilisi.On the way we will see the most beautiful lake Paravani, which is located at an altitude of 2075 m above sea level.Return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 8: Tbilisi – airport
After breakfast transfer to the airport.
