TOUR DESCRIPTION
Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.
Day 2: Tbilisi tour
A sightseeing tour in the historical part of Tbilisi, during which we shall visit Metekhi Church, we climb the Narikala fortress by cable car, visit the district of sulfur baths (Abanotubani). We shall have a walk along the old quarter, where on one piece of land there are a Christian church, a mosque, a synagogue and visit a wine cellar for tasting organic wines. The day ends with a visit to the authentic Georgian national cuisine restaurant, where a welcome dinner awaits us.* Return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.
Day 3: Tbilisi – Kakheti - Tbilisi
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Kakheti - home of viticulture and winemaking. We arrive in Signagi, admire the beauties of the Alazani valley and the great Caucasian ridge, visit the Bodbe monastery, where St. Nino rests. Further, in the village Chumlaki we shall visit a wine cellar, taste wines from Kvevri and have lunch. Our next stop is Kinzmarauli Corporation, where we shall taste wines local production. In the evening return to Tbilisi. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.
Day 4: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Shato Mukhrani - Tbilisi
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to the ancient capital of eastern Georgia – Mtskheta. We shall visit Jvari Monastery (cross) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (both are under the protection of UNESCO). Further we shall visit the Wine Chamber of Georgia, taste wine and transfer to the princely estate of Bagration in the village Mukhrani. Here in the 19th century, Ivane Mukhranbatoni (Bagrationi) started production of wine of European technology. Tour around the estate and wine tasting in the wine cellar. The journey to the Ateni
gorge will continue, where a farewell dinner will be held. Return to Tbilisi. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.
Day 5: Tbilisi - Airport
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport.
